Need a fun, low-prep way to kick off summer school or wrap up the school year? This summer-themed This or That Would You Rather activity give your students a chance to share their personalities, get moving, and start talking — all at the same time.
The activity is simple enough that you don’t need to explain much, but engaging enough that students actually want to participate. They pick a side, defend their choice, and get to know their classmates in the process — and the writing component add an independent work component.

This or That Game:
Each card shows two summer-themed items or activities, and students move to one side of the room based on their choice. There are no right or wrong answers, which makes it fun for everyone. You get 20 choice cards in both a printable PDF and a PowerPoint file so you can display it on your whiteboard.
Opinion Writing Worksheets:
Each of the 20 choice cards has a matching writing worksheet. Students their opinion and back it up with three supporting reasons. There’s also a blank template included that works with any Would You Rather question you want to use on your own.
This works well as an icebreaker on the first day of summer school, a brain break between lessons, an end-of-year party activity, or an introduction to an opinion writing unit. Everything is ready to print and go.
