CVCe Phoneme Grapheme Mapping Activity
These CVCe phoneme blending cards are a very effective way to help your students practice reading words with silent E while focusing on each sound in a word. This builds phonemic awareness and decoding skills.
This set includes 132 picture cards with elkonin boxes. There are 114 CVCe words and 18 “bonus” silent E words with 4 phonemes (example: slide) that can be used for extra challenge.
There is also a set of phoneme grapheme mapping prompt cards that help students connect finger tapping to the sounds in a word. Activities like this build strong phonological awareness, and improve decoding and spelling skills. However, you can simply use the digraph cards to practice blending if you prefer.
