Description

If your students are shaky on addition and subtraction facts, chances are they need more time building the foundational understanding of how numbers actually relate to each other — not just more drill practice.

This resource uses number bonds and fact families to help students see the part-part-whole relationships behind every addition and subtraction fact. With 60 no-prep worksheets covering number bonds to 20, there is plenty of practice to build that understanding at a pace that works for your class.

WHAT YOU WILL GET:

  • 60 printable worksheets
  • Answer keys included

Addition Number Bonds:

This section includes a worksheet for each addition fact from +1 through +9, covering sums to 20, plus mixed sets. Students complete the number bond by finding the sum and then write an addition number sentence to match.

Subtraction Number Bonds:

Structured the same way as the addition section, these worksheets cover each subtraction fact from -1 through -9, plus mixed sets. Students complete the number bond by finding the difference and write a subtraction number sentence.

Mixed Review Number Bonds:

Once students have worked through addition and subtraction separately, these mixed worksheets bring both operations together. Students write both the addition and subtraction sentences that go with each number bond, which helps reinforce how the two operations are connected.

Fact Families:

After students have a solid grasp of number bonds, this section moves them into fact families. The worksheets focus on recognizing which sets of numbers form a fact family and writing all the related addition and subtraction sentences for a given set of numbers.

Because everything is no-prep and ready to print, these worksheets work well for morning work, homework, math centers, small group intervention, or independent practice. The built-in progression — from single-fact practice to mixed review to fact families — makes it easy to move students forward at the right pace without having to hunt down extra materials. If you are working with students who need intervention or extra reinforcement on early number sense, this gives you a lot of targeted practice in one place.
