Telling Time to the Quarter Hour
This resource teaches students how to tell time to the quarter hour. It includes a variety of activities to help students build this skill and become proficient in reading an analog clock.
Your students will practice reading a clock showing times ending with :15 and :45 and also using the terms quarter till and quarter after/past (both are included).

Telling Time Posters
There are 3 different posters to help students understand the meaning of “quarter after” and “quarter till” and where they minute hand points at these times.
Matching Activity
This is a set of 30 clock cards and 34 time cards showing all quarter after and quarter till times, plus a few half hours to reinforce that skill. You can use these as a “Find Your Partner” activity with the whole class or as a matching activity in your math centers.
Color By Number
Includes 3 different worksheets. Students read the time on analog clocks and color the corresponding time on the coloring sheet to reveal the mystery picture.
Differentiated Worksheets
Includes 7 pages to practice telling time to the quarter hour. Task include:

Read Read the clock and write the time. One page requires students to write only the minutes (:15 or :45). On the second page, students write the whole time.

Draw the minute hand on the clock to show the time given.
- Color quarter after and quarter till statements to match the written time. One page is only quarter after, one is only quarter till, and one is mixed.
- Choose the clock that shows the time that matches the phrase.
✅ Alternate Wording: All of the pages that include the phrase “quarter after” are provided in another version that says “quarter past”. This allows you to choose the wording that you prefer and that matches your math curriculum.
