Description
This set of orthographic mapping templates supports the Science of Reading and works with any phonics or phonemic awareness program that uses phoneme grapheme mapping.
Orthographic mapping, also called phoneme grapheme mapping, teaches students to segment words into their phonological parts. It connects hearing the individual phonemes to finger tapping and the corresponding letters for each sound.
This resource includes a variety of orthographic mapping templates for words with 3 or more phonemes.
Includes:
- posters
- full-color orthographic mapping templates
- black-and-white orthographic mapping templates
These phoneme grapheme mapping sheets are provided in several versions that vary in wording to align with different programs. Students will:

- tap it or map it
- build it or graph it
- blend it
- write it
The full-color templates can be used in a page protector with dry-erase markers. Great for your guided reading groups!
