Question of the Week Pocket Chart Surveys
This Question of the Week resource is a great way for you and your students to get to know each other and share opinions about a variety of topics. It can also be used to teach about graphs and basic data collection.
Includes:
• 52 Question Cards
• 52 Sets of Answer Choice Cards (one set for each question)
• Student Response Cards (check marks)
• Graphing Worksheet
Each set includes a question card and illustrated response cards to choose from. The response cards include a picture and text, so they can be used by readers or non-readers.
Students place a check mark card next to their answer choice to create a class graph of responses. The cards are sized to fit in standard pocket charts but can be used on their own as well.
This resource also includes a graphing sheet to use as an extension activity. Students can color their own graph showing the data from that week’s question.
There are enough weekly survey questions and student response cards to last the whole school year and more. You can also use the cards in different ways to create your own questions if you want more.
Aside from teaching students about collecting data, these questions are also great conversation starters and can be used for discussion during your morning meeting or other group time.
