If there is a particular topic you want to assign, but students don’t have personal experience with it, this gives them a variety of ways to write about it. Or if there is a certain genre of writing you want to work on, these prompts provide the flexibility to find a topic every child is excited to write about.

Format:

There is one writing page for each prompt. The prompt is at the top with a fun picture to color. Writing lines are provided in a size that is supportive of second grade writers.
