This is a set of task cards for understanding the characteristics of solid shapes.
 
Each card presents students with a picture of a shape and asks them to determine the number of faces, edges, or vertices a solid shape has or whether it will roll or slide. A couple of cards feature 2-D plane shapes, but the rest have solid shapes.

The task cards are provided in 2 different formats:
1/4 page - For individual student use or small groups
Full page - For use on digital devices or through your interactive whiteboard
 
For younger students, you might consider putting out corresponding manipulatives with the cards to give them something concrete to work with in addition to the picture.
