Kindergarten Morning Work Set 2
 
This kindergarten morning work resource includes 9 weeks of daily reading and math activities. Each week focuses on a specific letter, number, color, and shape. This is SET 2 which continues and builds on the skills in set 1.
 
The order of letters in this pack follows a commonly used sequence for teaching letters and sounds. This sequence introduces letters first that are most commonly used in early sight words.
 
Letters - H, R, M, D, G, O, L, F, B
Numbers - 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18
Colors - green, red, orange, blue, pink, brown, black, yellow, gray
Shapes - square, circle, rectangle, triangle, trapezoid, rhombus, oval, pentagon, hexagon
 
Daily reading and writing tasks:
color, trace, and write the focus letter (upper and lower case)
color pictures starting with the letter sound
identify the target letter from among a group of letters (visual discrimination)
use the letter to complete CVC words (initial, medial, or ending sound)
write name
 
Daily math tasks:
color, trace, and write the target number
count and color objects
count on a number line
use a ten frame
 
Daily color and shape tasks:
trace the target shape
identify the target shape within a group of shapes
use the color of the week to color and write
 
Other tasks:
identify the day of the week
color the weather
 
In addition to the daily work pages, there is also a cover page that students can color. This allows you to staple the pages into a booklet or work packet.
 
This morning work is designed with kindergarteners in mind and promote independence. Pages feature:
 
consistent, predictable format
clear, primary fonts that show proper letter formation
uncluttered layout with plenty of space
manageable number of tasks on each page
easy to understand directions with visual supports
 
These daily worksheets could also be used as homework rather than morning work.
