Candy Corn Activities
 
This is a set of 6 hands-on candy corn themed activities that involve math, writing, and language arts skills. You can use them individually or set them up into stations for a fun and educational Candy Corn Day!
 
These activities are appropriate for 2nd to 3rd grade (or 1st with support from an adult).
 
STATIONS INCLUDE:
 
Candy Corn Word Builder
Students use the letters in ”sweet candy corn” to create new words.

Candy Corn Designer
Students design a new kind of candy corn, label a diagram, explain how it’s made (procedural writing), and write an ad (persuasive writing).

Candy Corn Synonyms
Students complete candy corn puzzles by putting sets of synonyms together.
 
Candy Corn Measurement
Students use a balance to weigh various items using candy corn as weight.
 
Candy Corn Shapes
Students build 3-D shapes using candy corn and toothpicks and identify sides and vertices.
 
Candy Corn Kitchen
Purely for fun! Students follow a simple recipe and make their own snack by using teaspoons and tablespoons to measure.
 
Each station includes a poster with the name of the activity and instructions plus any supporting materials that are needed such as recording sheets, worksheets, or task cards.
 
You will need to supply some items for a few of the stations such as actual candy corn, a balance scale, and items to weigh.
